Stella Echeverría is an ophthalmologist by training and profession. She lives in beautiful Cuernavaca, south of Mexico City, convoluted land where the Mexican Revolution and the eternally blossoming "bugambilias" mesh in an alloy of colors and history.
This magical surrounding has inspired her work. She uses strong colors, emulating the likes of Mexican muralists Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco. Yet, her own sense of the biological human vulnerabilities, is also reflected on her portraits and expressionism.
